Bridge Ministry Update

Hello Bridge Family and Friends,

As the end of the year is approaching,  I’m sending this note to share a few things with you that God has done this year at the Bridge.

  1. We completed a Church Health Survey that gave us insight to our strengths and weaknesses and we’ve begun to address those needs.
  2. Our Food Pantry helped hundreds of families in our Community.
  3. We hosted our first Neighbors Helping Neighbors Event in May that involved 10 Ministry partners from our Community.
  4. Our Community Partnership Fund helped dozens of people with Rental/Deposit Assistance, Medical bills, Utilities Bills, and even help with cars, etc.
  5. We provided meals for McQueen High School and Hunter Lake Elementary School Staff and Teachers.
  6. Nine adults and students went on our first Mexico Missions Trip since the pandemic.
  7. We had 10 small groups, with over 100 people involved, for our introduction to Oikos as God’s method for us to reach the world with the gospel.
  8. We participated with Cookies for Kindness and other organization to provide backpacks for back to school, Easter Baskets and over 600 hot meals for Thanksgiving.

I also shared with you that after 15 years of serving at the Bridge Church, I will be retiring at the end of April, next year.  The Board has already formed the Search Team, which is hard at work, with assistance from GHC, to begin the process of searching for the next person God has to lead and serve alongside all of you.

Financially, here’s where we stand as of November 30, 2023. Thanks for your faithfulness:

  • General Budget: Budget: $418,000            Income: $430, 245     Expenses: $422,266

  • Welcome Center Loan ($160,000 borrowed) Payoff: $130,425.50

  • Community Partnership Fund Giving:  $15,740.61

As we end 2023 in just over three weeks, I am asking that you pray with me about the following key areas for the Bridge Church and our Community.

  1. Pray for unity, direction, and wisdom for the Search Team as they work on the Church Profile and Pastor Profile which will help direct the search for a new Pastor.
  2. Pray now for the person whom God is calling to be the next Senior Pastor of the Bridge.
  3. Pray daily for your Oikos and begin now to invite them to the Christmas Choir Concert and our Christmas Eve services and into your home as you seek to share Christ with them.
  4. Pray for our giving to increase as we end 2023 to help with the extra expenses we will have in 2024.

We will need $10,000-15,000.00 budget for the Search Team and will have extra expenses to bring in a new Pastor. It always costs more to bring in someone new to the area.

You can give in the following ways:
1. Give online https://thebridgereno.com/giving
2. Give when you attend in person.
3. Give through the mail.  All gifts must be postmarked by midnight on December 31, 2023.
4. Give stock donations as well.  Please contact the church office at 775-323- 7141 and we can          help you give this way if that is your preference.

As we end the year, let me remind us of our Mission to Build Bridge for People to Come to Jesus and Grow in His Grace.  May we all be alert to the opportunities we have to share our faith with our Oikos and  invite our family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers to join us at the Bridge Church.  God has strategically placed you in the lives of those who need to know Him.  May we be faithful to share the reason for the hope that we have.

I look forward to seeing you this Sunday in worship.  Don’t come alone.

Blessings to you.
Pastor Bill
