Year End Update!

Hello Bridge Family and Friends,

The end of the year is coming fast for all of us. I’m writing because want to share a few things with you! As a church we have seen God accomplish some amazing things in 2022. Here are a few of them.

  1. Complete and occupy the Welcome Center, the first addition to the church in many years.
  2. Expand and grow our Food Pantry with the addition of refrigerators, a walk-in freezer, and providing fresh produce from our Community Gardens.
  3. Our Community Partnership Fund helped dozens of people with Rental/Deposit Assistance, Medical bills, Gas & Electric Bills, Phone Bills, Bus Passes, etc.
  4. We provided breakfast for McQueen High School and Hunter Lake Elementary School Staff and Teachers.
  5. Gave away Dozens of Loaded backpacks for the “Back to School Backpack Drive” and assisted several families from Hunter Lake Elementary School.
  6. Provided 2100 Easter Dinner Baskets and over 300 hot meals for Thanksgiving in partnership with Cookies for Kindness.
  7. Our small groups continued to expand following the pandemic.
  8. Plans are underway for our first Mexico Missions trip this Spring since the pandemic.

While there has been a lot of good, I want to share with you some concerns that are on my heart as we approach the end of the year.

The first is that we are behind in our General Fund giving. As of the middle of November, we are $46,000.00 behind in our giving compared to our expenses. It is not unusual for us to be behind with our giving at this time of the year. However, this is the most we have been behind since I became pastor 14 years ago, which is a big prayer concern for me.

The second is that we are also coming up short with the Welcome Center Fund. Our goal was to be able to build it and have no debt. At this point, we are about $180,000.00 short of the need, and unless God provides the money in the next few weeks, we will have to borrow it to pay it off.

I ask you to pray with us for God to provide and for us to have His wisdom on how we use the resources He provides. I also ask you to prayerfully consider making a special year-end donation that will go towards helping us finish 2022 strong financially. We ask every person who loves Jesus and is committed to the Bridge Church to make a year-end donation in whatever amount God directs.

Most people think their gift will be insignificant and not help. That is not true. Powerful things happen when God’s people pray and are faithful to follow His leading. Your gift in whatever amount will make a difference.

You can give in the following ways:

1. Give online https://thebridgereno.com/giving

2. Give when you attend in person.

3. Give through the mail. All gifts must be postmarked by midnight on December 31, 2022.

As we end the year, let me remind us of our Mission to Build Bridge for People to Come to Jesus and Grow in His Grace. May we all be alert to the opportunities to share our faith and invite our family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers to join us at the Bridge Church. God has strategically placed you in the lives of those who need to know Him. May we be faithful to share the reason for our hope.

I look forward to seeing you this Sunday in worship. Don’t come alone.

Blessings to you.

Pastor Bill
