Jesus personally affirmed and follow Scripture in His own life. (See Matthew 4: 1-11) . Jesus affirmed the authority of the OT scriptures: See above and Matt 19:4-5; Matt 12:40; Luke 22:44-45. To reject the authority of Scripture is to reject Christ’s authority in our lives. Submission to the authority of the Scriptures is both foundational and fundamental to our lives as Christ’s disciples and to our witness of Him in this world.
