That’s a great question. Why do we close our regular worship services one Sunday a year and go out into the community to serve, when we serve in so many ways throughout the year?
Why? Jesus said this: “The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Matthew 20:28). Jesus came to serve others and so, we too, serve others.
We do not have our regular worship services one Sunday a year to remind all of us that we are to serve others 365 days a year and to join with others from the Bridge to worship God together by serving this community in His name.
Thank you so much for joining us this Serve Sunday. We have about 75% of our adults and students who have signed up for 16-18 projects in both Reno and Sparks. We have one project that is actually on Saturday and one Sunday afternoon, the others will be on Sunday morning.
It’s not too late to join us, just click this link https://bit.ly/2pHtcm7.
Pray that we all will make much of Jesus as we serve our community this week. May we also encourage one other to continue to serve others in His name. Also, please email me your stories of service this weekend. I’d love to hear from you.
I love you all and love to serve with you!
