Update!!!

Dear Bridge Church Friends and Family,

As we have now moved into Phase 2 as a state, I wanted to remind you of our plans regarding how we plan to move at the Bridge.  At this point, we DO NOT have a start date for our in-person church services.

Our plan is to wait until groups of 100 or more can meet together before we begin church services, which is what appears to happen in what Phase three allows. BUT the Board, staff, and I continue to pray, talk, and review that decision.  I meet with the Board next week and we will review that decision again.

Please note that small groups are now allowed to begin in-person meetings if those groups are ready to do so and are willing to follow the proper ‘social/physical distancing” procedures.

Pray for God’s wisdom in all of this, I know many are ready to get back together.   My greater concern is not so much when we gather again but how we all treat one another in the process. There are so many different opinions about how we should proceed.  The last thing I think any of us want is for this issue to divide us when God calls us to unity in Christ.  I know God will direct us as we seek Him.

Below are the more detailed plans that the staff, Board and I have put together for us.  We will continue to keep you informed as we move forward in each step of the way.

The Bridge Church Reno Campus COVID-19 Response Plan to Nevada’s
“Roadmap to Recovery”

Nevada is now in Phase 2 of 4 Phases that determine how quickly certain parts of our economy and state will reopen. Please be assured that we have had and will continue to have many discussions regarding our response to the local and state guidelines, and we will continue to follow the guidelines in Nevada’s Roadmap to Recovery.

Listed below is how The Bridge Church plans to proceed through all these Phases.  We will not set specific dates to move to a different Phase or to open our facilities for meetings and events, including Sunday Worship services at this time. We will continue to monitor all communication from the Governor’s office and respond to the information as it is provided for us and possibly revise these plans as necessary.

Phase 1 (May 9) It has the strictest requirements due to concern about the spread of the virus, where we have the most responsibility of doing our part to keep social distancing (6’ apart) and wear masks.

During this phase, the following remains in place:

  • Church Service: Online only (Facebook/YouTube/ The Bridge Website: ZOOM Lobby afterward)
  • Small Groups: Online only at this time
  • Counseling: Online only (Zoom / Phone)
  • Special Events: Cancelled
  • Staff Location: Work from home if possible; otherwise, maintain social distancing while in the office

Phase 2 – (May 29) This phase allows for the lightening of restrictions toward gatherings and allows small groups of people to gather together. It is expected that no more than 50 people can congregate in this phase, with limitations adjusted as we near Phase 3.

During this phase, we anticipate the following will be in place:

  • Church Services: Online only (Facebook/YouTube/ The Bridge Website: ZOOM Lobby afterward)
  • Small Groups: Online or in-person based on groups size and willingness to meet and maintain social distancing
  • Counseling: Possible In-Peron or Online (Zoom / Phone)
  • Special Events: Cancelled
  • Staff Location: Work from home if possible; otherwise, maintain social distancing while in the office

Phase 3 – Allows for the gathering of larger groups of people. At this time, our local government has yet to provide specific guidelines regarding the size of these gatherings.  As we get more clarity and move closer to this phase, church staff and the Board of Trustees will determine which activities to allow during this phase, with the priority being the safety and security of those who gather. Our goal is to resume in person Sunday services when groups of 100 or more can all meet with no restrictions in regard to social distancing.

During this phase, we anticipate the following will be in place:

  • Church Service In Person and Online (Facebook/YouTube/ The Bridge Website: ZOOM Lobby afterward)
  • Small Groups In-person with some Zoom groups as well
  • Counseling: In-person and Zoom possibly
  • Special Events: May resume within numerical guidelines
  • Staff Location: All Staff on-premises

Phase 4 – Back to pre-COVID operations

  • Church Services: In-person and Online will continue
  • Small Groups: In-person and possibly zoom as well
  • Counseling: In-person
  • Special Events: Can resume with no restrictions
  • Staff Location: All Staff on-premises
